Peel adhesion

Peel adhesion or peel force is defined as the sum of energy required to break the bond and to deform the backing and adhesive. The resistance to peel is a standard method for testing characteristics of pressure sensitive adhesives. Peel resistance date can provide considerable information about the adhesive characteristics and expected performance. Such data depends on many factors: the test conditions, backing properties, interfacial conditions and others.
